cut a strip of sandpaper about 1/2 inch wide - put it under top of throttle mount where pin was with sand side against handle bar - tighten screws and see if it holds (if not, put a 2nd piece in)

Running rough in gear, fine idling..

Thanks for the tips, the sand paper is helping. I took apart the throttle and cleaned up the metal cylinder thing and inside as well. It responds to the throttle now and idles normal when the clutch is in but can't get it to run right in gear...
Gone every which way with the idle adjustment screw but it runs like crap in gear and just chugs along at a labored slow speed any more throttle and it just bogs down.
Added a fuel filter before all this, might try it without see what that does. But it ran fine with it for half a tank.
The gas is a month old so going to start with that and a new spark plug. Just trying to get it running right so I can sell it without putting more money into it. Need some suspension and something that can handle a rough dirt road and a passenger.
