I was really unbelievably close to buy a new pick and a kit thinking I could register it as a moped when I stumbled upon something about laws in new york state. I was wondering if anyone has been able to register a bike with the dmv and if so how exactly they did it. I was thinking if I get a four stroke engine and have the bike fitted with all the nessesary indicators and mirrors and all that good stuff I could call it a moped or a "whizzer" motorcycle, but nys law states on the dmv website that no "motor assisted bicycles" or bicycles fitted with small motors are allowed on New York roads or sidewalks or anything. any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
