Hi, It seems that as time goes by, my MB leaves a trail of broken wheels in its wake.

I'm on my third axle right now. I've taken the previous two out of old mountainbikes but they keep getting bent. I bought a cro-moly axle from the bike store today, but I fear that it will only be a temporary fix before I have to get another one.

I'm running a 62CC motor on a dept. store mountain bike. Does anyone know how I can cease breaking axles?

i'd take a good look at the hub, bearings, races, etc... look for cracked flanges, pitted races, whatever. if your hub and it's internals are messed up, it'd put stress on your axle.

make sure your cones are adjusted properly, and there's plenty of good grease packed in there.

axles are pretty strong. they shouldn't fail on their own.

ive never cracked an axle in half but my friend has cracked his axles.... my guess is that he is not absorbing the shock of landing properly using his legs.... my friend slams his back wheel down when landing instead of trying to land gently and smoothly.
