Shaft Drive?

I don't see a link in your post.

There are a couple of shaft drive bicycles out there that folks have linked to. The general feeling is that the shaft and gears wouldn't hold up to the stress of an engine.

It is an interesting concept however. Indian built a drive shaft bike for use by the U.S. Army in Africa during WWII. BMW has used shaft drive for years. Someone should try it on a motorized bicycle.

I've just finished installing a 1hp briggs and statton running through a 90 degree gear drive to a HTD belt to a Golden Eagle wheel shive. It runs up nicely at a 18 mph average with me helping at take off. Mainly cause I'm geared abit high and need to help the clutch engage . At 3200rpm it runs nice at 20mph. So it can be gone. My 90 degree is nothing but a pole saw attachment. It's all Sears stuff .

And in order to run some reduction and a larger motor drive gear there are a lot of 90 degree gearboxes out there for under $200. Or just use a lower unit from a 2 hp outboard motor
