Building for my first time and I would prefer to stay away from a kit and just take a motor from a chainsaw, weed eater, leaf blower or something.

Anybody with experience have any pros/cons on various engines. I've heard there are inherent problems with chainsaws (can't idle with engine running, can that be avoided with a different engine)

I think I'd prefer a 4-stroke (quieter, less smoke/smell). Let me know your experiences!

If you use your imagination and brainstorm with deacon, you will be able to fit a chainsaw or weekwhacker engine to a bicycle.

If you use a centrifugal clutch, it will idle when stopped.
