There should have been a puller tool that came with your kit. Use it the same way that one is used to remove three piece crank arms..
I got that puller thing.
This is my first engine disassembly, what's a three piece crank arm? Lol.

With the chain still on you can use the bike to hold the sprocket still when removing and reattaching the nut.
