I have not seen that before, but I may have to try it. I don't use a chain tensioner at all right now, but I have horizontal dropouts to adjust how far back the wheel is. The bicycle chain and and motor chain are both luckily at the right lengths to have them both at the right tension, but if I ever get a new motor chain, I'll have to bring the wheel forward to accommodate it not being broken in, which will leave the pedal chain loose. That would be perfect for my pedal chain side, so I don't have to worry about having the chains the same length.
