The last time I tried to buy something I had to use this service their rma process is flawed if you dont use a specialist only for America. I am somewhere in this thread trying to get my money back after they sent the order to Tennessee instead of Arizona. After a 50 day delay I got my money back.

Colonial Coast USA.
You can get 20ah@ 67.2v off the charger from HK for $422.07 plus shipping which has been averaging $20-30. True its not 30ah but honestly the larger AH packs are a pain to charge and must be used at least down to storage voltage with in a reasonably short time. We all have different pack needs for distance, hilly terrain, loads etc. I ride 5ah most of the time and 10ah when I need to travel a bit. I live in the flats which is ideal for an Ebike. I would much rather have the Multistar packs even@20ah than go through the PITA of dealing with the Leaf cell disassembly/reassembly.

Not knocking your idea, many use this method. Its just with the larger AH hobby packs showing up why bother?

I was looking at that leaf thread on E-S, looks like it is from 2013.
Battery tech is evolving.

TNT,
Not sure when you last ordered from HK but they have East and West coast warehouses now.
You do have to dig in their site to find anything as most stuff defaults to the over sea warehouse.

Fast shipping.
I get my stuff in 2 days because the west coast store is in my state.

I have never heard that the HK batteries were 3rd hand, china handme downs.
That makes no sense.
These Multistar are not the B and C grade types.

For the AH the leaf is less money, you got us there.
Would be $700+ for the same 4s/10ah packs.

Like CB2 said.
I don't even drain a 10AH pack on my 10mile ride, gets just to storage voltage, 3.8v/cell, so it is perfect for my use.

I could see how the leaf cells would be nice for a high power bike, though.
To each their own, some still think Pb is a viable battery type. EEK!
