Amount of Chain on the Sprocket

So, I'm currently in the process of installing my motor, and had a question I've been pondering for the last half hour or so.

How much of the chain should I have rolling around the sprocket? I have it set up to cover half the sprocket right now, but mainly just to make sure for myself that it's not going to be rubbing against my frame. I'm basing my half coverage assumption on the set-up of the typical bike chain for pedals that I've seen on pretty much every bike I've ever owned.

If you guys could throw me some suggestions/ideas, much appreciated. I want to make sure I'm doing everything right before I make the final cut out of my chain. That and the fact that I have to wait for tomorrow to get a new chain tool anyways, seeing as how I broke mine. (Don't ask, I'm not even sure how I did it.)

Thanks.

Howdy Chip,

Off the chain stay and frame is fine. Your OK. 180 degrees (half) is more then enough. IMHO

Dunno for sure, but think you could do a lot less and still drive. Not that you would want to, just sayin'

Have less contact on the forward sprocket and works fine.
