spark plug?????? - Motorized Bicycle

Are you suppose to gap the spark plug on a new china 2stroke motor?If so what gap measurement?

usually .028", but if you don't have a feeler gauge a matchbook cover is about .030" and will work OK

A plug gauge is about a dollar at the auto parts store... .024-.028

Not sure what kind of matchbooks you're used to but that would be closer to about .010. 024 to .028 is a good gap to start with.
Plug gapping tools are cheap, sometimes free at auto parts stores if you ask. Don't guess. Get a guage and set the plug gap correctly.

Matchbooks are closer to .012-.018, good for magnetos and points.

hmmm, I'll need to check that - all that I have around here are 30 to 40 years old : (

maybe they're diff now

or maybe they're like a waistline - expanding with age
