At work I have 8 cases of these Duracell lantern batteries that expire in a few months so I have to pull them from the shelves and write them off... I'm trying to figure out how I could use them on my Point beach for a lighting system etc? There are 6 in a case so I'd be set for quite awhile.

1 6v battery and 6volt lights or 2 6volt batterys connected together to = 12v and use 12v lights. Toss in a on/off switch. When battery goes dead replace it. You could even get a latern flashlight that holds the battery at walmart for $4.

Moto,
Where've you been. We've missed you.
Use two, wire them in series and you'll have a 12 volt system. The good thing about 12 volt is the availability of different styles of lights. The auto parts stores sell all kinds of cool lights but most, if not all are now 12 volt. These are dry cell batteries I assume? That negates the need for a charger. Just keep replacing batteries as required.
Good to see you here again.
