Thinking of converting a 2012 or earlier Felt MP (not loving the 2013 styling). Right now I'm having trouble finding a bike. Internet has been a dead end. I have a Chicago dealer looking, but any advice would be welcome.

Anyone converted this bike before? Any specific issues?

What kind of motor or kit are you installing?

There have been quite a few Felt MP conversions, I saw one of the
San Diego guys hawaii_87 on one at the race last Saturday with a
4 stroke 50 cc Huasheng 4G.

Check out his really pristine Felt Vintage Iron Bultaco Pursang.

See the #26 plated blue Felt cruiser bike in the pic above?
He paid $600 for a like new one.

It's a "replica" bicycle made by Felt in their Vintage Iron series.

They made Yamaha, Husqvarna and Bultaco models.

Thank you! That is so cool!
Of course, it's also slightly offensive to the lucky few who experienced the originals...
I WANT!

Right now, I'm still trying to locate the bike. I'm planning to go with a 4 stroke 50cc, but haven't decided on a specific engine. This is my first build, so I'm looking to minimize headaches. I've read that the Chinese engines are poor quality, so I intend to avoid those.

I'm a real noob at this and don't really know what's out there. Any recommendations are appreciated.

There is nothing wrong with the 50 cc Huasheng motor which is a
clone of a Honda GXH 50
Gear it right, get a tach and don't rev it over 8000 rpm and they
last for a long time, AZBill has over 10,000 trouble free miles on one.

Hey Hey that me on my MP and (not so) little brothers Vintage Iron. The MP My friend is a stout bike I can get you the same frame. The bike shop down here in San Diego and Coronado has a couple of pre-2013 MP's still in stock.

I'd appreciate it if you could send me the information on the shop. I'm not having much luck locating one locally and may need to have it shipped.

BTW, great bike. Just what I'm looking to do.
