Greetings brother (and sister) Gear heads!
I recently picked up an older used Island hopper rear mount friction drive kit with a blown Honda 31cc 4 stroke motor.
The motors toast, no biggie, the friction drive rollers so worn down its almost useless.(I gave the guy $75 bucks for the box of parts) the carrier plate and mounting hardware is all there.
A good Honda 50cc 4 stroke replacement isn't that expensive.
My idea is this, converting the friction drive to a chain drive/shift kit combo on a dual suspension bike.
I think all i might need is some way to convert the friction roller to a #40 chain gear dive, and of course a shift kit/free wheeling crank set.(we love SPB!)
Any ideas?
