Well I opened my first china engine not knowing what to expect.
Well I have built many two strokes over the years, but NEVER have
I seen what I saw today. Not all bad, but just stupid stuf.

First thing was the intake gasket was so much smaller then the
intake port or the intake manifold. It would make this engine run
as it had a restrictor plate behind the carburetor. As I removed
the head I noticed several washers under the acorn head nuts.

I figured that out right away. But even with all those washer a
stud till came out from the acorn nut bottomed out.My, & they
had spring lock washers under the head nuts also.

I almost fell down laughing.Other than the ports not lining up,
which I expected there not to bad looking little engines.I chucked
up all the acorn nuts in my lathe & turned the closed end off everyone
of them one this engine. They won't bottom out now (WINK).

But this is really fun & cheap easy fix.I,m a hug college football fan
& been messing with this little engine at haft times & between games.
Tomorrow it get this thing done, before my new bike arrives.I will
post pic,s when I get it all together.

You guys are the best, & been Soooooooo much help.I don't plan
on making a race motor out of this little guy, just make it reliable
& run as it was designed too.

Keep you guys posted, Flydance1

I had to laugh! It's true....you look at these engines, kits and you say to your self: "What were they thinking???"

Yet these engines are loveable, all the same, once you work out those bugs and get to know them.

Well there cheap & that's why there cheap I assume. But with that said
How much more does it cost to put the right nuts, & gaskets on these
engines. They must not even know what a QC dept. is?

Oh well I,m happy with it any way, but glad I looked inside before I
breaking it in.

Make sure to turn the engine upside down with the cylinder off.Shake it,see if any thing falls out. If all seems good rinse it out with some premix. Enjoy!

I always look in the intake for crap and yesterday I saw a bit of metal flashing at the welded bend in a steel intake. It was almost dime sized & could have done real damage if it fell into the motor. Took intake off, tapped it with finger & it fell right out.

Cool, Fly. Looking forward to your pics.

Ayup, I agree with you. They really are lovable little mutts. Still surprises me that little bitty glob of pot metal can do that much work. Just amazing.

Fly, I never read your story here until today. It is so funny how it is the same story as mine from the beginning ha ha. I am off tomorrow and going to solder and drill my main jet and try to get it running better on top I hope.

You might want to change the mounting studs as the china bolts break off and **** to get out . I replaced mine with good USA steel ones --- of course only after removing the broke off ones .
