That shoebox's proportions are perfect. Here in the UK we constantly had to put up with squished/shortened/disproportioned versions of US car designs. Our equivalent '50's Ford Zephyr/Zodiac/Consul range perfectly illustrates this practice. There were countless others. None looked as good as their US inspirations.

Thanks Pete, I have had a lot of people complement on restoring a four door, several have said four door cars are hard to find. The first car show we took it to I won most original restore, this was voted on by all the other car owners at the show, that let me know we did a pretty good job.

Definitely at the opposite end of the spectrum to the cast brass stuff Dennis made.
My model train kits featured a lot of lost wax brass investment castings.
Still have all the master patterns for many hundreds of similar tiny detail components I made over the last thirty years.
