Just got back from a mini-vacation to NW Arkansas. Got the entire campsite to myself and there were quite a few forest service fire trails to ride! Probably did about 40 miles of bone shaking riding --- perfect!! The Huffy frame held up just fine, nothing broke or even loosened! And, a guy wanted to buy my bike this morning!! We ended up being $50 apart....so I've still got it.

There were also the ruins of an old CCC Camp near the campsite that was interesting to explore. Maybe a few more picts later!

Thanks for the report. I like to find the ruins of the CCC structures too. They built a lot of smaller dams in washes and draws in the west to slow the storm waters.
The Huffy will work fine if you stay on top of bearing adjustments and lubrication.

Here's a few of the CCC camp.......said it was the 1708.

A luxury in a CCC camp --- a goldfish pond in the shape of Arkansas.

The slab remains of the latrine/shower building.

The 'ice house' that had been attached to the mess hall.

I liked this place a lot (except for the chiggars....lol)! Reminded me a lot of the place I go to in New Mexico (Holy Ghost), but it is so much closer and the bike runs so much better at this elevation!
