Was having a little trouble putting my masterlink back in my chain well because without a tensioner and like most people I don't have 3 hands. I was thinking to myself this would be a lot easier if I had something to hold the chain in place while I slipped the link in so I started rummaging around in my pliers drawer. I came across an old pair of snap ring pliers with a ratchet lock and replaceable tips that I loosened and turned inwards. Let me tell you those things work slicker then snot on a glass doorknob! :D

When I was riding pedal bikes for 300+ miles a week I carried a small piece of coat hanger. It was bent on both ends like a hook and that way I could use it to hold the chain ends together while I was trying to fix it. It's only about 2.5 inches long with the hooks so it doesn't take up much space in my tool kit.
