yeah. i'm in costa mesa, and i use a 7. i did a lot of work to my engine and tried a 5, 6 and the 7 seemed to work the best, so i'm sticking with it. (in case you didn't know, the higher the number, the colder the plug on NGK's.)
you, being new to this, you probably won't notice a difference in a 5, 6, or 7 plug. but you're on the right track, and a 7 won't hurt. it's a million times better than that piece-o-crap that comes stock with the kit.
