hi friends.

I just installed a gomo friction drive 200w 4 stroke motor onto my bicycle it
doesnt seem to work very well at all.
im thinking it may be an issue with the type of tyre i have.
It doesnt have alot of tread and is quite thin.the bike is slightly heavy due
to low rider panniers its a shogun metro AT.
It is still quite a struggle getting up hills i have to pedal almost as hard
as without the motor it doesnt seem to assist me much at all.
to be honest it only really works properly when im going down hill as alot of the
time i have to pedal a bit when im on a flat?!
is this normal or could my bicycle to heavy/wrong type of tire?

im extremly dissapointed with my purchase!

please help me!

I have an inframe engine, it's 2-stroke 66cc, and it also has a lot of trouble going up hills, I pedal all the time. I don't think the problem is with your engine. If you had an inframe engine, I would say get a shifter kit from sickbikeparts.com( i'm just installing mine). There might be options from your dealer for a bigger or smaller roller to increase your torque(which would decrease top speed).

You might just want to look at an inframe, there are 2 and 4 strokes available, and SBP has a shift kit for either.
Good Luck!
