Reading different posts about "Will this motor get me there?" I am reminded of my days of yore when I did more road trips. I always felt that the destination was just half of it, and the other half was the trip itself. I think back to trips that stick out in my mind as being an "adventure" and they usually involved hitchhiking and/or flagging some one down for a push/tow/jump. So when some one wants to do a 1000 miles with an HT I just can imagine the "adventures" you would have. I myself would love to take a summer and attempt some sort of epic travel on my bike, but kids, wife, and job means I'll have to delay it for a few years.

So when it comes to "reliability". My question is not will it make, but can I fix it along the way? I mean if I really had to be somewhere I don't think I would count on my HT rolling wreck to get me there on my schedule, but it would get me there.

The trip is almost always more fun than the destination, but that's how I roll.
