I added some washer thickness, about 1/16 inch, to see what it would do. Some here have said adding washers will make the take off smoother, so I was looking for that.

Whenever I work with my clutch and touch the surface of the shoes, it works smoothly for a while. Actually it feels very good with a little oil on the shoes.

Once the oil burns off, It starts to buck and jerk during take off. Once the shoes lock in, it's fine but I'd really like to get it to engage more smoothly.

I have since removed the washers I added. That helped by moving the shoe engagement point lower in the RPM and power band.

I'd sure appreciate any ideas you might have about smoothing out my clutch.

Oh, yeah, It's a Grubee 4G straight shaft with a 48 tooth on the back. I've got a 56 tooth, Maybe I should put that on. I'm sure the lower ratio would calm things down.
