I've had a dual chain gear reduction 3:1 that came with my Titan. First thing I did was replace the chains with heavy duty ones from Electric Scooter Parts. And repacked with lithium grease. I have 750 miles on it so far and no problems, I repack every month just for the heck of it. Gives me an eye into what's really happening in there. Maybe a little OCD. The one thing I have noticed is the heat. The whole thing gets nice and toasty, a belt drive will not get as hot I am sure. I haven't had any problems on long trips 25 to 50 miles, but I am sure you might want to think about a belt drive for extended trips. Much less on road maintenance and a few extra belts are a lot less trouble than chain and grease. I will probably switch to a G4 or EZM before I go further than 300 miles away.
