16" Pirelli ML 75 moped tires who is running them ?

I was reading over on endless sphere that a 16" Pirelli ML 75 moped tire will fit a 20 inch bicycle rim (I am thinking hvy duty BMX) and still have the overall dimensions of a 26 in bicycle tire. Can anyone provide some more info on this? Is anyone here running these?

they'll fit on 20" rims, but overall diameter is not even close to a 26" wheel.

for a size comparison, check out the starting lineup at the grange race.

my bike is tiny compared to the 26ers.

there's 24" wheels with hookworms on both sides of me, and then rodney's bike with the blue wheel has 26".

my handlebars are a foot lower than his! :)

How wide are your rims and how tall are the lips on your wheels Bairdco? Those look perfect for a future build.

Or how wide & tall must a rim be to run those tires? Links for the proper tubes?

I know ask a lot of questions, and I gladly thank you for your knowledge and distribution of it.

Or what's the wheels you got going for? Your moving back to 24" wheels right? Let me try to help with that.

i'm keeping mine. i'm sure i'll build something else wacky with them in the future.

my rims, crudely measured with a rusty tape measure, are 1 3/4" from bead edge to edge, the lip is 5/16", they're drop-center and use 8" spokes with the drum hubs.

the tire is a 16x2 1/2, and inflated it's right on the money at 2.5".

overall diameter of the tire is 20.5".

the tire bead isn't much different than a bicycle tire except for the stiffness.

you could mount them to a bmx 20" rim. i've seen them on some old skyway tuff wheels before, too. they don't need a deep rim or anything special, if that's what you're asking. a regular 20x1.75 bicycle rim will work.

i use 16" moped tubes with steel valve stems, but a 20" bike tube will work.

That is exactly what I was asking.

I have some 20"x2.125 workmans with front drum or just rim and spokes for the same set up.I will be posting them this week if your interested. They are pretty tuff looking with 11g spokes
