Hey all,

I have Fat Franks "26 x 2.35" and I was wondering what is the narrowest inside rim width anyone here has used on this size tire and had no problems. I have a shimano 3 speed rear hub w/32 hole and it's difficult to locate wide rims "29mm+ inside measurement" for this hole pattern. I have gone to Sheldon Browns site and he recommends the tire width should be between 1.45/2.0 x the inner rim width. With this I would need an inner rim width of 29.845mm. Thanks for any help you can give me from your experience or where i can buy wide rims.laff

Kinda off-topic, but if you plan on using the sprocket/rag-joint setup, it is designed for 36 spokes, you will have some difficulty lining everything up with 32 spokes.

I'm using a SB shift kit to power the 3 speed hub (unfortunately, shimano couldn't drill 4 more holes in the hub to make it easier to find wider rims), but thanks for the heads up on the rag joints use on the 36 spoke wheel, I didn't know that.
