OK- need some help from someone other than MacGyver.

I bought a brand 4 stroke kit with a 142F engine and it showed up in good shape with the exception of a broken choke lever.

After trying to crazy glue/ epoxy it back together- it was in three pieces, I gave up and drilled a hole down through what remained of the lever, a stub of plastic. Then I found a small finishing nail, bent a 90 degree into it to create a handle and applied a bit of epoxy to it and pushed it down into the hole drilled in the plastic stub. See pic.

Not elegant, but it seems to work. Any suggestions on more proper fix??

Thanks.

New carb is a slightly more expensive option, but those carbs can be particularly fickle so you may end up replacing it anyway. Dax has 'em for $27 or so, and you could probably find them cheaper still.

Thanks. I ended up buying a choke lever from gasbike for $3.00, but also bought a whole new carb too for less than $30, so I have a back up. Great advice. Appreciate it!

Those levers are garbage! what I did was to take a small strip of
aluminum, 1 1/2" x3/8, drilled a small hole in one end, and screwed
it into the lever stub with a dab of glue. This worked very well, but
the 142 did not. I got a tanaka PF4000.
