Piston needle bearings vs bushings?

Mine is a 2009 and has needle bearings on the wrist pin.

My old HT is stamped 2008 and it has needle bearings. I thought bushing's were obsolete by now. Maybe bushings are making a comeback??

I'm wondering the same thing.
They are cheaper.

Don't worry, people will demand needle bearings. (we hope)
