Transfer port timing ?

I did some digging at the past and read several posts on this subject, no furtherquestions do I have now.
I will only mod my piston to clear intake port and keep my crankcase to jug gasket a typical thickness, I plan to make some up out of some 0.010 -0.012 soft Aluminum I have and use my favorite sealer on it, I'm getting rid of the paper gasket all together once I get the Aluminum ones made up.

i have reed valves on my engine, i would have thought it was only necassary to mod them in the case of what ive done?
