Over the summer, I managed to have my drive gear(one on the crank shaft) crack on me where it popped the keyway. After I had it welded and put back on, it was still popping the keyway for some reason. I got to considering the thing and noticed that there was a spot in the turning of the clutch assembly that caught at odd times. I tore it apart and found that it looked like a few bearings were missing for some reason.

Needless to say, I didn't have or could find any 1/16'' bearings to add to that mess, so I lightly greased it, put it back together, and have had no problem since with popping the keyway.

My question is whether or not this is a common issue that needs to be dealt with. I noticed that the clutch bearings had no grease in them, not to mention the pain it was to put that thing back together!

I'm seriously considering buying a new replacement motor just to escape more future problems.....I do not want to take that clutch apart again!
