i have a motorized micargi cruiser. i've ridden it for about 4 years and the coaster brake has always worked fine. now it's a little harder to stop and it makes a loud squealing noise whenever i press down on the pedal hard.
i have never greased it. could that be the problem? i know nothing about coaster brakes. do i need to "reline" them somehow like a car's brakes? do i simply grease them? how do i repair a coaster brake? can anyone give me detailed instructions. i have never opened up a rear hub to see what is inside.

thank you,

You are lucky it's still working after 4 years of not servicing it. How's the rest of the bike like the bearings?
