I have a springer/disc for my Felt build, but also have a very nice Marzocchi Z1 fork that is set up with V-brakes. I'm using a chrome cruiser rim. Are there different pads, hardness, for different apps? I would like to get the most braking power with the least amount of lever pull, pad wear is not an issue.
Second question. Does a V-brake require less "pull" than a disc?

Rim brakes do not work well with chrome steel rims and are completely useless wet. The disc will give you lots more stopping power. Don't know about the "pull" but some discs are v brake handle compatible.
