In all honesty,
I hate the bike! LOL...
But it's a love-hate relationship.
It just looks stupid, but there's some attraction to it,
the big tires will probably last a long time.
The frame is VERY rigid! It's more rigid than a beach cruiser!
It probably goes well with a 66cc kit!

The only thing is, you don't have brakes (except coaster), no shocks, and replacement tires could be harder to find...

Compared to price of the real fat bikes, this is an okay buy. I'd upgrade the forks and attempt to use it... at the very least it would make a nice pedal bike. (^)

I went into a Walmart tonight and they didn't have the fat tire, 32"
or any of the 29"ers.

You like fat tires? culvercityclassic says this is his next build.
Where does he get all these bikes from? :)

Probably custom built, custom welder (and painter).

The low bar is a bit low IMHO. A heavy rider with motor might actually bend the frame to the floor, esp when riding on a rough surface.
However you could come very close to this, by can-spray-painting the rims and the frame.

The gas tank is a nice tank!
I guess you could take a look at some motorcycle or scooter gas tanks.

Ok, now 5 or 6 forum members have ordered their walmart mongoose beasts.

Who's gonna motorize one first? Hmm...

I can see most purchasing this bicycle just for the wheels, Custom Frame Build's.

Anyone going Electric powered?

Forget about electric!
Range is too short, speed too low.
I've had an XTreme XB700Li, doing 23MPH is freakin slow! Scary when all other cars are passing by at >30MPH speeds.

I'm waiting to see someone else work out the basics but Iwant one REAL bad.
Just looks bad to the bone in my opinion.
Worthy of a Morini I'm thinking...and possibly in need of one as well to pull those clown shoes.

True, my bike did 23MPH for 35miles.
But at 28MPH top speed, you can ride about 1 hour.
I'd hardly call that enough range.. I however, ride on average ~25 mile rides, and don't want to end up pedalling a bike, because when it's empty, it takes hours to refill, if you're lucky to find a power socket somewhere (as not in all places can you charge your bike, like you can, finding gas stations).

Red, and Green color's of the Mongoose Beast are soldout.

Only Blue color available now, this is according to the Walmart website. As of April 1, 2013

If you click on the link here and scroll over color choice you'll see a Sold Out popup,
over the picture of the Red and Green colored Mongoose Beast.

Is it possible that the only ordered 50-100 of these Mongoose Beast's?

CCC, I can already see in my minds eye one of these Mongoose Beast builds motorized by you!

Hopefully walmart can reorder more Mongoose Beast's if this bicycle is this popular.

Good luck to those of you who haven't ordered their Beast yet, and to those who have.

C.H.

I almost pulled the trigger today and ordered one... Got the plans going wild in my head... It still may happen...
