Is there any reliability/quality difference between the Hua Sheng kit from Grubee or the storm motor kit for a bit less money?

I don't have much personal experience w/ either. The storm could either come w/ a hoot style (owned one and it stunk) or a pocket bike style transmission neither of which are confidence inspiring (IMHO). The Grubees are probably more reliable but noisy.

The motors are the same (possibly some technical differences) and are very reliable (you can always upgrade trans later).

They aren't "quality" units (trans), but heck, a 4 stroke motorized bike for $200-$300!

Hope this is helpful!

Cheers! Evan

Hello guys, IF you want to use Q-matic, the Honda version of 4-G, or other systems, you'll need the model of HS (or Honda) that have the shaft sticking out of the crankcase.

So if you wish to have those (and more options, including building your own drive), you'll want to steer clear of any HS engines which have the little on-board clutch system, as it will not allow you to get away from that noisy little Chinese clutch, and you'll find some of your options are limited.

The newer USA, and some Homemade garage systems prefer MaxTorque USA, American clutches!
