10w30 should cover just about all temps you'll be riding in. If you're riding in below freezing temps, 5w30 might be better.
You can use 10w40, 15w40, and 20w50, too. Regular or synthetic doesn't really matter, as long as you have oil!
The manual calls for straight 30 weight oil, but IMO, that oil is inappropriate for us. Straight 30 is designed for long oil change intervals
(it doesn't break down as quickly as multi-viscocity oil) and it's quite thick at lower temps when the engine is cold.

I run Maxima SynBlend4 10w-40 in both of my Huashengs. Any high quality 4-stroke oil will work just fine.
royal purple 10-40 its in my 91 xtra cab toy and in my 02 diesel jetta exceeds recommendations for both of them plus its easy haveing only one type of oil in the garage .

I am running Honda GN4 10w40 for break in. After that I will most likely run Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40.
And in my race bike with 212cc Predator engine (you might want to pay attention here), I run Maxima Extra4 15w-50.......the best 4-stroke racing oil money can buy for motorcycles. Plain and simple and .....expensive!

One of my small engine mechanics teacher swears by 100% synthetic 0W-40 oil. It supposedly outperforms the vast majority of oils. I suppose that 0W-20 would be even better.
