Cairo,Illinois is one of the state's poorest counties.
The law enforcement hands are full keeping drug and
property crimes in check. The law enfocement laid off three-fourths
of its staff that cover 250 square miles. This leaves just four deputies
and one squad car. The other four squad cars were turned over to
the bank for non-payment. Inmates of jail were turned over to regional
jails will be soon released because the county can not afford paying for
there upkeep. Area is endangered to becoming an lawless society.

Wow, Sounds like a good place to ride motorized bicycles
That's exactly what I thought.

I grew up in Cook county. They probably burn up a larger proportion of Illinois taxpayer money than any other county, and it's probably the worst place for MB-ers (bike theives, rough roads, rotten law makers and enforcers, etc...) So money isn't everything. Kankakee county is like different planet in comparison.

So, Charged-Reacter, are you in Cairo at the bottom of the state? Not exactly west-central. I used to have in-laws in Anna south of Carbondale. I liked visiting that area. Never rode a bike there, though. Nice and scenic but more hills than I'm used to. Lived for a few years in Big Muddy and Taylorville too. Didn't ride a bike there either - visitors couldn't sneak one in :)
