I'm just looking for something that's quiet just to putt around the neighborhood. I was also thinking of getting one of those electric 48v 1000w rear wheel kits.

Sorry, no offense intended. I just thought that the statement sounds funny.
I would love to build an electric bike, but they are too cost prohibitive for me ATM and have too short of a range for my liking with the current battery technology available.

It's funny because I work in Santa Cruz and I see so many MBs everyday. The one that stood out the most was this electric bike with a front and rear electric hubs. It was pretty darn fast and I couldn't catch it going up an incline road.
I checked out the kit tonight and the kit goes for $300 but the battery is the killer at $500. With that said...I'll stick to my fast n loud Morini... LOL

The only other motorbike (not mine) I ever saw in my town was electric. It just whirred by effortlessly.

That and Barely's Magic Pie thread got me into them.

Spiders now live in my gasbikes.
