This generator is what I'm thinking of using to charge a 12v 4.5ah battery running a lot of thing (24W headlight, turn signals, and other lights. Thankfully I can save the battery juice for when it's dark)

So, I have 3 places I could put it.
Make a belt from the 79cc shaft to the motor.
Make a belt from the jackshaft to the motor (there's a 3x speed reduction here compared to the above)
Friction drive on the wheel.

I'll use a diode and a regulator for the generator.
Which sounds best?

Sure you can add a power generator to your bike, why not?
You already use the least efficient way there is to transfer power to your wheel, why not burden your engine more with the least efficient way there is to charge a battery?

Thanks, KC, for the negativity.
What do you suggest I change? What's more efficient?
I'm only here to learn.
