Good work. The mount looks great but have you considered oil level in the crankcase? I'm no expert on the 212cc engine but most 4 strokes require the crankcase be level or close to it for proper lubrication.

Your photo makes it hard to see the angle the engine is mounted.

Lots of people have gone vertical! Is it the best thing I'm not sure. What I do know is It does need 20 - 24oz ? Have not got to that point yet. The land speed motorized bicycle record was made with a vertical mounted motor. Maybe someone will chime in with there results.

You won't need more than a few more ounces. I'll check and see what I used. That engine has a few thou miles on it now so it musta worked.

I really don't know why the slanted them in the first place, piston laying on its side will wear a oval in the block faster than upright one,but takes a long time. ..........Curt

I run 22 oz. with a vertical cylinder layout. Anymore and it will leave the engine out the valve cover breather until 22 oz. are left. Run a catch can for extended rpm runs. I also add an ounce of zinc additive as part of that 22 oz. total since these engines have flat tappet cams and I run high spring rates.

OK, maybe it wasn't yours. I gets confused. It certainly wasn't this one. I can see that THIS one is a whole different shade of brown :=)
I'll find the pic I saw, an older build with tele forks, and chrome coil springs above the sliders. H.

found it.

Wow you dig that up! Those are Suzuki k10 forks. You could get them for under 100 shipped now it's a little harder to find them. There are a few threads about them. They make 2 different sizes for bars ,I think we used the 3/4" Also that color is Torpedeo red!!!
