Do not remove those parts. They are structural members called cantilever tubes and removing them can seriously compromise the frame's integrity.

I wouldn't Air. Seems like it could be the cause of a catastrophic failure.

Looks like you have enough room for almost any of the commonly used engines. Do you need to remove them or just thinking about it?

Kind of an after thought but I will say that I have only modified the cantilever tubes purely for the "look" I was trying to achieve at that time. I do have trust in my Tig ability but I DO certainly inspect the prone to fail areas often.

Did you just not like the looks of them Air? Or was there a need for the added room?

Just wondering. Most every problem has been solved or met with some sort of compromise to get the end result you want or need.

Just a personal preference, but that is a good looking cruiser and gonna make a great MB.

its more for room i have a 3.5 B&S vertical shaft that i converted to a Horizontal shaft and the conversion made it kind of bulky (and it was not small to start with) so the extra room would b well used

OH man! How did you convert to horizontal?

I have been working on this for a couple of years using worm gears. I have yet to try the just turning the carb but gonna have to try it I guess.

Very cool and glad I asked.

You could do it with belts, kinda like how those old Hoover upright vacuums that has the belt in the front that crosses like an 'X' and powers the beater brushes.
