Are you pulling the clutch in?
These don't have a centrufigal clutch.

If you are pulling the clutch in, on the side of the carburator, there is a screw with a spring. Turn this in a fair bit, then start the bike up, and pull the clutch in. Then start unscrewing it, until it idles at about where you want it.

oh my gosh thank you so much! this solved like.. all my problems! now it starts up fast, and I can stop it with the engine still running, makes slowing down so much easier, and it actually idles now!
