I managed to weld my exhaust with a 90 amp flux cored el cheapo Harbor Freight welder I found off of Craigslist for $40. I did buy some better wire. Used 3/4 EMT. It was a learning process because even at MIN the thing runs about 60 amps and feed speed at 1. I did figure it out, though, you just have to be quick and let it cool down. I'll post some pics when my phone recharges. It ain't pretty, but there's a buttload of wire on it and it ain't going nowhere.

tack, wait, tack, wait.it goes on and on.relax, take your time and set yourself up so its comfortable for you to weld.buy a good pair of welding gloves, they are cheap and allows use of the free hand to help steady the mig torch without it getting really hot really fast.

i usually place part in vise, and use a tee stand to rest my arm on.less shaking=nicer welds.

nice job.with practice ,even flux core can look decent (with a little paint)
