Hi guys....This is my first time here n really need help.....I m trying to built the Onyx 29.....got everything in ok but the rear sprocket that came with the kit...I can't center it.....anyone know where I can get the ADAPTER, I was told that the bike have too many spokes can't center it...pls. help....I hope I did explain enough that y'all understand my problem....Thanks...Jason.flg.http://motorbicycling.com/images/smilies/flg.gif

Jason look around there are these aluminum adapters that are coming out that do away with the sandwich method of sprocket hook ups I saw them on one of the advertised sites here I just don't have the time to find it 4 ya right now Buddie! Try pirate cycles

Here I found it on Pirate cycles . They are not cheap though

I built 2 of these 29ers. If you use 6 of the 9 bolts the sprocket fits fine. You have to trim the dust shield to fit inside the center hole. Just start with everything loose and use a criss cross pattern when tightening a little at a time. I use a rubber mallet to coax the sprocket to center,and keep spinning the wheel to check true-ness.

I feel this is the best, others may not agree. I don't trim the dust cover, I enlarge the hole in the sprocket. I use a drill press, a ream and 2 clamps. This way when I place the sprocket over the dust cover it is centered. Some use a Dremel tool, but I wanted to keep the dust cover intact... why? to do its intended job. Contact me at motorbicycle00@gmail and I'll forward what I just sent to a member about the same question. Bevel the teeth on both sides while you are at it. Helps on chain alignment with the sprocket.
