That'd be correct, not required. I'm considering putting them on though. After a couple of days of riding the bike to work I think that signals would be a good idea. Also looking at more lighting on the back of the bike to increase visibility. None of it is required by law but drivers don't always give me enough space and I want to be sure it's not because they didn't see me.

Extra visibility is alsways good, but always remember to take account of those drivers that are blind/not looking/useless.

True. It's hard to compete with an iPhone, iPod, CD player, GPS, the Hottie in the rear view mirror, etc. for attention and when there's not much of a shoulder or none at all the best I can do is ride the edge at WOT until the shoulder gets wide again. It's going to take a lot of lights!
