I've begun fixing up my 66cc chinese engine for my first ever build and I have a rough idea of the mods/fixes I want done before it runs.

So far:

- Removed magneto white wire.
- Changed out the stock spark wire and boot, fitted with FML premium wire and boot.
- Ditched the stock plug and bought a NGK B6HS.
- Sanded the head up to 1500 grit.
- Checked the jug/piston/head for any burrs, all good.
- Ground down burrs in the intake manifold.
- Checked the piston rings for cracks, all good.

Things on my to do list:

- Swap out hardware and replace with high grade hardware @ recommended torque. Q: Do I need to swap screws as well as nuts/bolts? eg. the ones holding the magneto/coil cover on. And do I need to swap the studs? or just make sure they're as tight as possible.
- Find better gaskets for intake/exhaust manifolds and base of jug.

Maybes: I've heard the bearing behind the bucking bar is often an issue, should I replace it? and with what?

Similarly the clutch seal seems to be a common issue resulting in a loss of compression. I honestly don't know where it actually is or if it's worth worrying about.

Please suggest anything I may have missed.

Also a random question... my kit came with about 6 washers and an acorn nut on each cylinder stud. Is that necessary at all? Can i simply use a regular washer, locking washing and a regular nut on each?

Thanks!!
