Bike being used is a 2012 GT avalanche Xl frame 26" tire. Got the bike off craigslist for 100$ could not pass up the deal considering the bike goes for 540$.. found a few still going for 350+.
engine kit is the black slant head from engines online shop.com has 30 day warrenty.
Parts order -upgraded 7mm copper wire & ngk boot, ngk plug ,TI-wrist pin/copper head gasket from juice moto, upgraded hardware & Loctite ,oil from local mx race shop.
Rear sprocket adapter from pistonbikes. or the HD hub kit from Dax.. need opinions on that .

Mods to do- clutch cable easy pull, clutch adjust
possible carb upgrade not sure which one , then expansion chamber most likely from a kx65.

Issues-is the oval frame but ive seen a avalanche 2.0 another member used and mentioned the SBP large HD frame mounts .. which is A U-bolt with a flat piece of steel bar with 2 holes drilled in it. I located a website that has (HD steel muffler clamps) which im sure I can find a clamp to fit my bike then rubber mallet the U bolt to form fit it shouldn't be to hard.

A carb is a waste of money unless/until you mod the cylinder to take advantage of more flow. Get the break-in out of the way and build that tuned pipe!

i am going to attempt to mount up a sprocket to the rear disc brake hub

let know what you think of this idea.

https://www.affordablegokarts.com/m...Product_Code=5321**&Category_Code=MTRBK+PARTS

I really like the idea of being able to swap sprockets out quickly depending on riding conditions I could use the 40 for road riding, and use the 48 for offroad

or I might order a super sprocket from kings.. ive just read a lot of horror stories about dealing with him.. as in its hit or miss. and that his sprocket top hats are 8.5mm instead of 8..

another option that I found is the jakes website now has a top hat setup as well but its over 100

leaning towards spooky and AGk

any advice??

I've always used the stock ragjoint with good results. Never had a single sprocket issue yet...
So I can't speak on what parts are good.

okay well i mean the engine kit comes with the rag joint and all that so ill have it if it ends up not working, like i said i just really want to go the disc brake mount sprocket way so i can quickly swap sprockets depending on riding conditions . im just going to give it a try the spooky tooth cycles sprocket is only 23$ isnt bad..

its not that easy only cause the sprocket leaves no room to just swap chains. atleast that was my issue. cutting chain length was the next best option..

Just a heads up spooky tooth cycles is no longer carrrying the disc brake sprockets would have been nice to know before they decided to send me out the a 40 tooth rag joint instead of what i payed for...so once i get the part returned and my money refunded looks like ill be ordering a new sprocket from here

the 40 tooth
http://custommotoredbicycles.com/sprockets_for_disc_brake_hubs_unviversal_disc_sprocket_adapter

seems to offer many different sizes as well.. for those of you looking for DISC brake sprockets .
