I bought an 80cc 2-stroke kit before I found out I need a 49cc to be legal without a Liscense. Can I put a 49cc top end on a 80cc bottom end? If I could, It'd be alot cheaper than buying a whole new engine.

LOL, good question. I know a guy who rides a 60/80cc and the cops have never stopped him. He removed all of the stickers and what-not from his engine, so if it does happen he can just tell them "It's a 49cc engine."

On a serious note, I would think that it might be possible, but you would need the piston from a 49cc engine to go in the jug. I think they are different diameters.

Should be able to as long as wrist pin is the same and pin height(on piston) is the same too.....
