I have this white valve on the fuel inlet. Is this a fuel cutoff? I have a fuel cutoff coming out of the tank.I looked in the fuel inlet while turning the valve and nothing seemed to change. What position should this be in when starting the engine?Should it be straight up and down or across like it is?thanks

Yeah, that's an additional shut off. It has to be in line with the fuel line (straight up and down)to work. Turn it 90 degrees from where you have it to get fuel flow. I noticed the same thing (it didnt seem to change when looking down the fuel intake. If you take it apart, there are 2 horizontal holes on the back side of the valve. Opening the valve opens a bridge being the valve to enable fuel flow.

Listen to bseelbach, he speaks the truth.
For whatever reason the newer kits/carbs are coming with the extra valve. You only need one. If you shut your fuel off after a ride, and you should to prevent flooding and/or leaks, use the one at the tank. That way if you get a fuel line leak at least you won't drain your tank.
