It would be great to have a spot to organize local meets. As well as a spot to find other people in the area to ride with.

Not everyone is comfy with sharing personal info on the net, while location isn't difficult to ascertain - even I neglected to add my home state in my profile until prompted to do so.
Best bet? Start a thread named 'Rhode Island Riders' or w/e in http://motorbicycling.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35 Events, Races & Rally and say you'd like to have some get-togethers (even two riders is an "event" ifn you've not met lol) - then do a member search and send an invite via PM to get it going... even add a link to that thread in yer sig.
At the very least, having a thread named that will show up in a search should someone be lookin'
