What seems like a small hop turns into a big annoying bump at speed. Loosen all the spokes, and start over, snug down 3 at the valve stem, rotate the wheel 180, snug three more, rotate 90°, snug three,180, snug three, then snug down the rest. If there's still a hop, start tightening them where the high point is.

Spokes should all be even more or less in the nipples.

Once they're all semi tight, true it side to side. Etc...

thanks im going to redo them doing exactly that i think the hop is right about where i ran out of spokes and had to shorten 4 longer spokes to finish the job i shortened and rethreaded them but it looks to me as if they normally got raised threads
