Need some help?
I’ve done a search but couldn’t find exactly what I needed. I’m putting the head back onto the piston and wanted to make sure I don’t mess it up. Do the piston rings need to be positioned in a certain way in relation to the ports or each other (or) can I just pinch them closed and fit the head and piston together with a little oil?
Thanks

Look closely and you'll find two pins located in the piston ring grooves. The ring gaps must align with those pins before compressing them enough to slip back into the cylinder.

Lube the piston and rings with 2 cycle oil before reassembly.

Thanks......see exactly what you mean. I've heard about Molly coated rings etc.....should I wait and get those ?
