Default Star Nuts or Headlocks on threadless fork/headset

Wondering if anyone has comment on either. This new build will be my first threadless fork/headset.I'm leaning towards Headlocks for the ease and being able to reuse. The Star nut looks like a accident waiting to happen.

The star nut is really only there to pull the clamp down properly. It holds no stress as the clamp bolts give it the hold.
Think of the star nut more as the adjustment for the bearings rather than giving any clamping force. It takes up the slack then the clamp bolts lock it down.
Very strong and simple system. I've used them on BMX bikes with no issues under severe abuse.
